Joe Nedder

Joe Nedder is a 23-year-old composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Joe studied at the Rivers School Conservatory in middle and high school and completed summer programs at the Berklee College of Music and NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.

In 2018, Joe got his professional start serving as a trombonist and vocalist for Boston-based swing band the Beantown Swing Orchestra.

Joe went on to pursue a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from Northwestern University, where he composed, arranged, sang, and played trombone, piano, and bass for a variety of ensembles. Joe has worked as a freelance musician, composer, and teacher in the New England, Chicagoland, and Los Angeles areas.

He served as a songwriter, trombonist, and lead singer of his own Chicago-based Pop/R&B group Morning Dew and has played and recorded for groups such as The Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Couch the Band, The Moon Units, The Lucky Devils Band, and The Mikey Ahearn Group.

In 2022, Joe was selected as the commissioned composer for the 2022 Rivers Jazz Festival where he composed and arranged three big band songs and provided clinics for the Rivers Honors big band.
