Ahou Yasmine

Ahou is an accomplished soloist and voice teacher. A soloist and ensemble member with Areté Vocal Ensemble, she recently performed in “Omar Sharif” from The Band’s Visit. She has sung in concert with Artes Vocales in performances with the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus and Young Men’s Ensemble, California Philharmonic, as well as sung as a soloist with The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra in the Mozart Requiem.

Aside from working as a teaching artist, Ahou is also a musical theatre librettist and lyricist; her one-act musical Seeing the Light debuted at The Broadwater Theater in Hollywood in 2022.

Ahou teaches all styles and levels of voice. Her teaching is influenced by principles of the Alexander Technique, incorporating body-mind awareness of breath and alignment that help free the vocal instrument. Her young students have been accepted into the National Children’s Chorus, played leading roles in children’s musical theatre performances, and gained acceptance into gifted and talented programs for voice. She also works with adults of all levels. In addition to voice, she teaches piano, violin, and guitar.
