Flavio Rocha
Flavio Rocha has been sharing his love of music with students for over 15 years. He teaches guitar, bass, piano, voice, and production. While he’s fluent in many instruments, bass is currently his favorite to teach.
His musical journey began when he was given his first guitar at the age of 14. From that moment, music became his lifelong passion. By the time he was 20, Flavio was already teaching and quickly realized he had found his calling. Education became just as important to him as performing, leading him to earn a BFA from Berklee College of Music and an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts.
Over his career, Flavio has won several composition competitions, had his work featured in the Nintendo Switch game Neon White, and played in a wide variety of bands, from classical and jazz to rock and blues. He is currently signed to a record label as a recording artist and continues to perform in multiple groups.
In lessons, Flavio adapts to each student’s interests while guiding them toward their fullest potential. His best advice for practice? “Consistency over quantity”, just 30 minutes a day can make a bigger difference than cramming before a lesson.
Fun Fact! He also specializes in Brazilian percussion and has taken lessons at samba schools in Brazil! Outside of music, he stays active with biking, tennis, and soccer. Whether you’re just starting your first instrument or ready to refine your skills, he’s excited to help you grow while keeping music fun and inspiring.
