Ms. Addy
Ms. Addy brings years of experience, heart, and a love for the fundamentals into every lesson she teaches. She specializes in band instruments, beginning strings, and voice, and has been teaching music for a long time. Her own love for music began in high school, where she discovered the joy of playing in ensembles, and if you ask her favorite instrument, she’ll proudly say the tuba.
She’s a retired public school music teacher with a background in marching band, choir, and musical theatre. Ms. Addy holds a B.S. in Music Education, an M.Ed., and an M.S. in Technology Education Management, and has performed both on stage and in the studio with brass ensembles and choirs.
In her lessons, she keeps music fun while focusing on strong fundamentals. She especially enjoys working with beginners of all ages and helping students feel confident from day one. Her best practice tip: slow down, play it right, and work on music you love.
Fun fact — Ms. Addy did ballet as a kid to fix being pigeon-toed! When she’s not teaching, she enjoys reading, sewing, and baking.
